DAY 2: HUACAWASI – SONDOR – STEP SACSAYLLAME – ARURAY COCHA – YURAK COCHA – PUCARA

Early after breakfast we will head to the highest peak for 4 hours along a very steep path, the pass of Sacsayllame or Hucahuasi at 4600m / 15091ft. We will be accompanied by an emergency horse, this trek is full of mountainous areas, extensions of agricultural land, as well as different Andean villages.

After reaching the highest peak, descend to a lagoon where you can recover or rest for a while, while the cooks prepare lunch. After lunch we will descend for 4 hours to the forest where you can see trees like the Queuña, typical tree of the Andes, We will arrive at our camp in Pucara (3100m / 10170f). A wonderful place where you will receive hot drink and some snacks on arrival before we can take our vehicle to Cusco or if you have a ride to Machupicchu we will leave Ollantaytambo where the train station is.
